Chris fell back into painting when he was supposed to be doing something else and, fatally distracted, hasn’t been able to find his way back to where he was – not that he has tried particularly hard. The Fishslab will be home some of the results of his aesthetic wandering.  

Alma Caira and Annie Taylor bring their fused/ blown glass and illustrative/ textile art for A Forest: a magical adventure, which will include new collaborative work. Open 10am - 4pm every day with a special storytelling event on Saturday 20th November with Sarah Lloyd-Winder 4 - 6pm.

2nd November the FishSlab will host a sparkling exhibition from three talented glass artists at the Fish Slab Gallery. 'Five Years' is a joint exhibition by local artists Lucy B and Vicky Emptage. They are exhibiting together for the first time. Vicky's lino print collages are abstract representations of the coastal and marine environment and Lucy's oil paintings and mixed media pieces explore the local landscape and her love of dogs. The Whitstable Art Society is an established group of artists, who meet on alternate Wednesday afternoons at Swalecliffe Community Centre in St Johns Road, Whitstable.  New members of all abilities are always welcome.  Their website - whitstableartsociety.co.uk - has information about the dates and themes of the Wednesday meetings and also shows examples of the society's scope of work.

Love of Colour is a joint exhibition by local artists Carey Still and Selina Firth, who are exhibiting together for the first time. Selina is a painter and Carey is a collage artist. Their work explores individual themes however both their art practices can be identified by a strong individual language and colour palette.

Jan Lewis - Textiles, Glass & Print Creating layers with merino wool, silk and chiffon. Layers of paint & layers of glass. Creating pieces of art to wear and display.     Millie Brierley - Hand-Built Ceramics Building by hand, adding layers of texture and glazes to create decorative and functional art.
