Michele Papageorghiou and Anne-Marie Rymill: Stories of Land and Sea

29 April – 05 May – Pictures Old Neptune, Whitstable Harbour, Octopus and Lion Michele Papageorghiou and Anne-Marie Rymill first collaborated at the Eclectic Art Gallery in the artists’ quarter of Margate Old Town and had further successful shows at the esteemed Pie Factory exhibition space. They have decided to swim further along the coastline to Whitstable in order to exhibit at the Fishslab Gallery and will be in residence from Tuesday 28th April until Tuesday 5th May 2026. Michele has created a collection of artworks with a twist; blending inspiration from Van Gogh’s iconic starry night skies and Hokusai’s powerful waves with the tranquil seascapes of East Kent coastal towns and bays. She is currently a resident artist at The New Kent Art Gallery, Gallery @37 in Broadstairs and the Westgate Galleria. Anne-Marie is a professional Margate based fine artist, working in mixed media painting within an abstract realism style. Her work explores dream-like spaces where the natural and spiritual world converge often through symbolic animal imagery and luminous layered surfaces. A member of the association of animal artists, her paintings combine expressive mark making with oils over spray paint, acrylics, pigments, collage and gold leaf to create works that evoke contemplation and wonder. She is a featured artist at Job Muscroft Gallery in Margate Old Town.
